I need some help picking a laptop for day to day stuff + moderate gaming (FF14 online mostly at this time)

Issues/goals

#1 this is a gift for my wife (Christmas)
#2 she has a 15" laptop right now... I think that screen size is good for her, I dont think she would like anything smaller. Either same or bigger.
#3 I don't have this kind of money to put out in one shot. My only option is FutureShop (canada) because they can give me a 12month no interest payment plan. Unless anybody can suggest another place which gives 12monthly payment plan (it's just that I have the card already so im just thinking of going straight to futureshop)

-> They do Price matching, although they are touchy on price matching items that are on sale (sale on other website or something like that, they tend to match regular price only).

#4 I live in canada, QUEBEC which has restrictions on items that do not come with french language avalabilty. (near order button has QUEBEC RESIDENT disclaimer)

I have looked at the choices, I think from the selection I would choose this one, which i can price match to TigerDirect, they have it for 1500$

If anybody could look at other available ones, it would be appreciated :) I would rather buy something from newegg if i could.. they have some decent ones for around 1k :( And I know there are not many choices...

choose whatever fits your budget

i would suggest the both of those laptops since both are good one , Asus is known for their build quality so it would have a slight advantage

anyway both the 970m and 880m have almost the same performance except that the 880m has 8gb VRAM whihc is an overkill for gaming

hope this help!

if you have questions just ask!

Games aren't using more than 6GB of RAM and 99% of games aren't going to use hyperthreading, so an i5 would be fine.

I'd also like to see a source on an ASUS ROG overheating less than a Lenovo Y50.
