Some application is using 100% of my CPU

Randomly my CPU will have 100% of it used but it's only ever for a short time, 1-2 seconds. Because of this, I'm unable to see what application might be causing it.

It freezes my entire system for that second or two. If I'm watching a video or listening to music/audio, the audio will desynch and the video will too.

I've been looking for quite awhile trying to figure out what is causing this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Open Task Manager and you should be able to see all of the services/processes that are running.

If you are having trouble catching the problem then try the Event Viewer logs or "perfmon /rel"

Look for red circles with white "x" or error codes. Post accordingly.
