Just got a brand new Satellite c55-c5241, took it out of the box and started it up. From the first moment I started trying to set my password, etc, some of the keys don't respond, and have to be tapped many times before the letter (or number) shows on the screen. And it's not always the same key...but c, e, g, h and spacebar seem to be the worst. Have had this 5 days, thinking about returning it, but would rather find a solution. Please help!

Solution
More than likely the keyboard. While it would be cheap and easy to fix, you might ru into other issues down the road. Most definitely exchange it.
Do you have another keyboard you can use to make sure its not your keyboard and just your computer? If that works and the external keyboard and it fails aswell, you either one have really bad luck ;P, or two your windows copy is a little bit corrupted, and you should try factory resetting. If the keyboard does work, then I would try to buy a replacement keyboard for your laptop depending what will be easier. Replacing the keyboard would be best, but you will most likely have to tear your laptop completely apart, so you might want to just exchange it.

There is no magic software fix. Keyboard is as low tech as it comes in a laptop. These days if technology don't come perfect, I can't be bothered to spend any time on 'em. If you are in Kenya and had to have them ship this item to you from Dubai, am so sorry.
