Even new out of the box, the tv has about a three-year lifespan before it turns an ugly, ugly yellow. SXRD sets need a new optical block about every leap year because the UV component of the lamp light will eat the blue color panel. Try before you buy. Get a white test pattern or white commercial displayed and make sure it hasn't gone funny. A new block is $850-950, not counting labor. This set is past its manufacturer's warranty extension. Q006's were the prototypes for very good looking but short-lived sets. Consider them the James Dean of the TV universe.
