Hi there I was looking into getting a sharp quality HD camera recently and came across this camera for $250 in my local electronics shop. The standard price is $499 we negotiated and he said he could do it for $240, and that I should go see him again if I wanted it. Can I get a camera better than this for that price or is this a bloody amazing deal and should I go and buy it? please help I don't know what to do I just need someone to tell me the straight forward honest truth if it is amazing than say go buy that straight AWAY, if it's not then say bad stuff about it and I won't buy it, it shoots in 1080i 50 which is smooth for slow motion, I know interlacing is not the best, otherwise it is 1080p 30fps it takes high quality images and is a good low light camera but you know, I'm only looking to do editing in after effects the video quality will be reduced during several rendering processes. What do you think? Be an expert! Tell me?

I didn't find much on the Sony Alpha A3500. Apparently it replaced the A3000 with the major difference being the lens.

If you getting it only for video then you might want to consider a camcorder instead (provided interchangeable lenses are not important to you):
Both of the ones below are new
Canon VIXIA HF R500 - $199.99 (has headphone and microphone jacks)
High Definition
AVCHD Progressive
