Sony-Blu Ray BRCM-DMS.3. 80:29.94.5a.8a.16

We have a Sony Blu-Ray and for the past several months we've seen 4 identical new items in the menu:

BRCM-DMS.3. 80:29.94.5a.8a.16

We've tried clicking on them, but each time we get a message "Trying to access server", and then "Try again later."

Does anyone know what BRCM-DMS.3. 80:29.94.5a.8a.16 means, and what (if anything) we need to do about it?

Seems like they are firmware updates maybe. Did you try contacting Sony support?

I did contact Sony before posting here. They suggested unplugging the device and trying again, or having the unit serviced.

Well I can tell you this wouldn't be normal on a user screen and if it detracts for normal functionality, u should have it replaced/serviced.

The unit is working perfectly (for now) so I guess I'll just ignore those messages.

(FWIW, yesterday I noticed, after clicking on them a few times, that "Video", "Music", etc. boxes appeared with the words "No Content".)
