Solved! Sony Bravia TV KDL-40R510C Can't get any sound when I plug the cable HDMI plug into the TV HDMI 2 port.

I want to use the port because my new soundbar says I must use the HDMI ARC port on the TV, which the cable signal now uses.

According to page 34 of the manual, HDMI1 is your ARC port (for the soundbar connection). Is that how you are connected to it?

No because the cable TV signal HDMI plug is plugged into it. I did move the cable TV HDMI plug into HDMI 2, and got a picture, but no sound from the TV internal speakers.

You should consider changing the ports being used by cable box and soundbar.
