Sony et al are a bunch of assclowns that IMHO deserve anything they get from "the hacker community"
They will root-kit you, drm you, and track you into the ground without a sniff of a second thought. So if you want to go back into a system that has already been proven to be total CRAP.............I have no sympathy for you, you walk into a den of thieves @ your own risk!

psn is going to be back on soon ive heard its on in japan already but idk the do owe us for the time theve been down beacuse the havent given us astraight answer plus alot of people lost there info. plus right as a lot of games come out it wasnt hackers it was the realease sony has messed up thats why i switched to xbox psn is free but its not people getting there accout info stolen might lose creditcard info and stop blaming anonomous they had nothing to do whit it if they did theyd say they did they would want credit goto anonnews.org for proof

[citation][nom]Ajaycloud[/nom]Only people who subscribe to ps+ and things deserve any sort of compensation its cool tht sonys giving everyone gifts but the people who annoy me are the people who don't pay anything yet still say what sony are giving us isn't enough. Even people who DO pay for ps+ don't deserve any more than what they're giving as they're giving us a months free ps+[/citation]

i put my credit card info into psn so i didnt have to re enter it every damn time i want a new dlc pack.

i deserve some ammount of compensation, because of the week it took them to tell me, and the possibility that they have credit card info but they arent telling us (its a japanese company, wouldnt be surprising if you know how corporate japan works.) and the overwhelming fact that everything i log into had the chance to be compromised over that week period of time.

im not saying give me a million dollars. but im saying some in store credit, or a free sony made game would do wonders to smooth over how p!$$ed i am

@pato_34
Wow, so much hate... It's not healthy for you. It clouds your judgment also, and undervalues your words even on the points you make correctly.

[citation][nom]Vampyrbyte[/nom]Cryptic if you can't read."it is possible that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may also have been obtained." There are two bits of key information here. The first is the fact that the security code is confirmed to have NOT been obtained by any hackers, making the CC information they have obtained significantly less useful.The second is that Sony are unable to determine weather the hackers have access to the CC information associated with the accounts or not. We can only speculate as to why they are unsure but I have a possible explanation.The database that the CC data is stored in is encrypted. This encrypted table was downloaded by the hackers, however it is impossible to determine whether the hackers have the capability to decrypt the data. I'm struggling to see what Sony could do more. They have acknowledged that an intrusion took place. Took necessary precautionary measures to limit the damage (They took the entire PSN offline as soon as they found evidence of the intrusion). Sony have also released information pertaining to any stolen information as soon as they had verified what was stolen to the best of their and the expert digital security analysts ability.At no point have they denied information has been stolen. At no point have they denied CC information has been leaked. This means if someone has suffered financial losses it should be easy for the Bank or Financial Agencies involved to trace the source of the fraud and to protect the afflicted persons and refund them. However there have been no reports of any fraud being directly related to the PSN intrusion as of yet.What exactly is it you want Sony to do?[/citation]
They didn't denied that the cc card info was taken, but they also didn't confirmed it. I want to know if my cc info was taken or not, regardless if it was encrypted or not. And this is what I mean about cryptic. Also even without the security code it's still possible to do some damage.

I mean guess what? People are far from perfect and make mistakes! Guess what? Sony was created by people and is ran by people. If Sony could create a system so secure it couldnt be cracked; thats one hell of a feat! All you greedy people asking for free games.......no wonder America is what it is today. Your not worried about your information being stolen you just want free games. Like what was said up above...PSN is free....xbox games cost just the same and you have to pay to play online. I dont want any thing from sony but to fix the security problem so I can get online and dominate some COD MW2.

@loadedgunonyou

yes, no system is secure 100%, talk to any security expert and they will tell you this, even hackers will say this, that is why they preach a layered security system, had the data been encrypted and behind a closed monitored system, in the case of the outer security being breached, Sony would have known the exact extent of the breach and what was taken (rather then saying we are not really sure), even if the outer system was breached and data was pilfered it would be useless to the thieves because it had a strong encryption applied, a layered system plans for failure and places safe guards in place

no one is faulting Sony for being a victim of a crime, they are faulting Sony for not taking the correct precautionary steps, no one is asking for free games, they are asking for compensation, because the life long hassle of ID theft is a nightmare, it's not something that goes away once you report it, once the information is out there it can never be deleted, you will become a recurring victim of ID theft, but im sure your little CoD is more important than that

Anyone that signs up again is a moron. 1, for waiving your right to sue Sony when your non-encoded personal information buys some criminal a yacht in Haiti and 2, for trusting Sony again.

hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa at all SONY fan boyz hahahahahahahahahahaha ...I'd take a red ring of death over this BS any day HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SONY SONY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Well it is past the 3rd and 4th of May.....so when is PSN back up and running? Or will it be another "within the week" answer again? Why can't Sony have a definite answer and actually stick to it?

i don't wanna put a monkey wrench in it but didn't some one just buy out play station hince signing a new agreement not a week before it all went down?
is it just me or does this appear to be like movie "hackers" where they blame hackers to take pressure off of them?
it took a week for them to say "o we got hacked"
i think he is full of bs!
they dont wanna point finger at themselves so they turn it onto hackers!
i personally dont hack, dont even know how to, loved the movies tho!
and free plus for a month. o joy i get a demo for free! its a freeking demo!
just my thoughts!

.Vampyrbyte, I totally agree with what you are saying. The ony thing that has riled me is the length of time it took for them to disclose ANY infomation about the attack. Almost a full week without telling us our personal details are at risk is totally unacceptable. The moment they shut PSN down, knowing there had been some sort of security breach, they should of at least told us there there was a problem and there was a slight chance that our account details could of been leaked. Yet they waited a week and left us totally at risk. Fair enough they say they didn't know for sure themselves the extent of the problem but they should of still prepared us for the worst.

Everyone just shut up damn. At least PSN was free to use unlike 360. Just imagine if you had to pay, man it would be really bad. And some of you people probably didn't even buy anything or put any credit card information in so shut it. We should all be greatful that half the stuff on there was free even if they were wack stuff, because if everything had to be paid for we would really be in hot water. Yes Sony should've been better prepared but don't put everything on them, most of the blame goes to the hackers who took your shit. Go argue at them. I'm pretty sure they're trying to get the psn working again cause some of the greedy workers want money in their pockets and won't stop till it works. So they're actually working twice as fast. Sony is suffering just like we are so i think they had enough. It's like you people aren't even pissed at the hackers. So quit your bitchin and be grateful for some things we didn't lose.

i don't care about the free stuff i just want the network to be back on
