Sony HT-CT370 and ARC compatable TV

I have a Sony HTCT370 soundbar. When I hook my blue ray and my xbox to the soundbar via HDMI and then hook the soundbar to the TV, there is no signal detected.



My TV is older and basic so it does not have an ARC input. My cables are also very old and basic. The person at the store said that did not matter since the soundbar just passed the signal through to what is hooked to it.



So, do I need a new TV or just a new cable?

Many combinations of source - cable - TV together don't meet the HDMI standard. If your TV has more than one HDMI input try a different one. Then try a different HDMI cable.
