Expensive but seems like a nice item.

Can get clear QAM.

I have a question for anyone familiar with this DVR. It gets its
channel information for recording from the TVGuide Channel. What if
your cable company doesn't carry the TVGuide Channel? Or if you plan
to get broadcast HDTV OTA?

I downloaded the DHG-HDD500 User's Manual and regarding the on-screen
TV Guide service, which is free,it says:
"The TV Guide On Screen interactive program guide provides listings
for cable-ready, cable box, and digital cable services as well as
Over-The-Air braodcast. It does not provide listings for satellite
services. Satellite subscribers can use the manual recording features
built into the unit"
