Sony laptop continuously restarting how to get desktop screen or start

Hello,
My laptop model is sony vaio VGN-CS290.
Message on screen is configuration updates:Stage 3 of 3-0%completed Please do not turn off your computer.
, after a few seconds, shutdown and starts restarting.this is happening continuously and never get a desktop screen. Please help me to fix this problem.why is its happening.

I think there is an update error. Can you go to safe mode?
