[citation][nom]NewJohnny[/nom]How much do you pay for your cable tv every month?[/citation]
$0.00

my computer pretty much replaced my TV for the most part. the only time I turn on my TV is to watch a DVD or VHS here and there, even then that's about once every 3-6 months =/

I can only see this idea selling with one game they have coming down the pipes, and that is planetside 2. I beleave it's F2P, unlike the 1st one where it was only F2P till level 5 or so.

if sony trys to put this in a retail game that costs ANYTHING there is going to be complants/boycotts/etc. of sony video games at least if not all sony products all together....

bye bye sony, better forget about people pre-ordering games for your PlayStation 4 to make sure it doesn't have ads like this!

If this is going to be done in a traditional pay-$60-up-front game, you can be sure that "patches" will be made by the community to remove those ads.

I wonder if they will include a micro-payment scheme to kill the ad - "pay us 10c or watch this ad" - they get paid either way.

Of course, I'd probably skip the game...

if the games came out cheaper, and you could pay maybe 3-5$ for a week long no add, or pay up to 60$ (game cost - 60 = how much you would have to pay) for completely ad free gameing, i would have no problems with them... and it would never be 10c to watch an ad, with online ads you are lucky for get 6$ per 1000 views some can get more but its usualy less.

Besides, the gaming community probably won't have any tolerance for such a system, lighting torches, gathering pitchforks and threatening retaliation if such a plan actually gets a green light.

Right, just like people wouldn't stand for commercials on paid cable television, limited licenses and installs for software, or many other things that become acceptable with an incremental implementation.

The only way I can see this being acceptable at all, would be during LOAD times between Game levels. Think about the funny things they could do, like on that "kung pow, enter the fist" movie. The intermission thing was something like"how bout a carbonated soda" and "my nipples look like milk duds" LOL. Yea I know that memory space is being reallocated, so playing a video would probably not be feasible...just a thought. How about developing games with no load restraints and quality play so good you don't have to bilk your advertisers $ony? Oh yea Evil Empire I see lol.
