[citation][nom]hoofhearted[/nom]I thought there was some legislation that went though recently that said people are allowed to jailbreak their iPhones. Doesn't this same law apply to PS3 consoles?[/citation]

It might be legal but i bet Sony have stated in their (as usually) insanely large EULA (have you read through it?) that they don't allow you to use your hardware as you see fit without loosing the online "privilegies" (what a fine word, isn't it!).

I just love PC's in this regard - No such garbage at all, you use YOUR hardware the way YOU want without being screwed by the provider, its after all YOUR hardware!

Learning what I have learned...
All you need is 2 hard drives.
1 for legit online gaming and the other for playing "BACKUPS" lol
The only thing you would need to do when you switch from one drive to the other would be to upgrade or downgrade the system firmware.
Other than the firmware all data is stored on the hard drive and they would have no way of figuring out if you were pirating. Even though I'm certain I could do it without getting caught, I still won't do it. To make a backup you must have the actual disk to start with. This would be fine if you are going to rent a game but Blockbuster for example rents games for $8 each. OR I can pay X amount a month for gamefly. I guess you could download a game but some games are huge the one example I saw was 22GB. I don't want to spend the money on rentals and the time it takes to keep the console crack working. Infact, the main reason I won't be doing this... I don't have time to play video games anymore. The last game I played took me almost 1 year to finish (God of War). Someday I'll get to God of War 2 but for now I'm playing Metroid Other M.

I dont blame Sony from shutting down and trying to ban hackers. Its stupid lets say im playing Call of duty modern warfare 2. I get in an argument with a hacker. hes ganna hack me then i have to get anew account and do all that work all over again to geton rank 70. Ijust hope that Sony Makes a software to download so hackers are no longer avalable online.

I bought a used PS3, and it turned out the thing was permanently banned by the previous user, and I can't get my $$ back. Because of the ban, Sony treats me like a criminal, by refusing me access to PSN and related services.

Fine. I'm a criminal. Watch me, Sony.
