Sony Vaio hung up on BIOS screen

My laptop just hangs up on the initial splash screen. I am not able to get into BIOS by hitting F2.

I kept it on for a long time but it just stays on that initial screen without moving any further.

I have the SVS model with the assist key. I tried pressing the key while the laptop was booting but it did not help. Also there is a clicking sound coming while booting the laptop.

Befor you press the power button, PRESS and HOLD the ASSIST button and then the power button. Now you should get the menu you want.

I tried this but when I press and hold the ASSIST button it starts the laptop even without pressing the power button and the same splash screen is shown.
