Sony VAIO not starting up after fan cleaning.

hi. without taking much of your time, i am coming straight to the problem. i cleaned up the fan of my vaio (e series : vpceh3aen) by removing dust with a dry cloth and now the laptop is not starting up. Only black screen with a green led (power) lits up and then nothing happens.
I have ensured that all the cables are intact and is in the place as before. In fact I reassembled some of the parts again like hard drive and RAM.
Also checked that the fan is working when I hit the power button on.

I wonder what can be the problem? Could it be a BIOS issue? Any help will be appreciated

remove maim battery & disconnect power adapter from laptop. hold the power button down for 8 seconds. reconnect power adapter & press the power button hopefully to turn on.
