I am going to be upgrading my computer, now that Bulldozer has been unveiled, and after doing lots of research on the matter, I'm still stuck as to whether I should get a Bulldozer or Sandy Bridge processor.

I will be doing some gaming, but my main use is with HD video rendering. Benchmarks show that in heavily-threaded apps, such as Vegas, the Bulldozer beats the 2500k, albeit by not as much as it should. I will be overclocking whichever I get (not by much, maybe 4GHz range) and I wanted just honest opinions about which one would serve my purpose the best.

Thanks!

I mean in it the general, not u personally.

And Vegas is a multi-core optimized app so the 6 core SB-E will be speed devil there. That upgrade could last a few years, and still would be one of the fastest out there.

And sadly AMD would be maybe close to that performance, but still behind.

I don't hate Intel, I just want what's best for my money. I do have the funds available to get an i7 970, or would I be better off to wait for the SB-E series?
