Hi. When i try to import a mp4 file i recorded with OBS (open broadcast software) then when i import the mp4 file then it starts to like render if you know what im saying and when i try to edit it like when i click on the long thing were i can edit it then it just crash my sony vegas pro 13. My specs are. Nvidia geforce gtx 770 intel core i5-4460 3.20ghz

Solution
Vegas is meant to work with video camera based files, mp4 extension is pc windows/linux based. The low end commercial based wondershare video editors type apps will probably handle mp4 files easier.

Try VSDC video editor which if i recall correctly is a freeware application which supports mp4 editing.

I checked up vegas supported files, and it supposedly does support both opening a mp4 and saving edited rendering out in mp4. I'm used to the older versions of vegas and magix movie edit pro and they never dealt with mp4 or mkv well. The problem with high end video editors is that they are fussy, sometimes recoding your video to avi and then dropping it into vegas for editing usually cures the problem. Also try cleaning up your temp folder then see if your mp4 video loads in vegas.

Type: %temp% in the run window below the start button and press enter to open the temp folder, and delete all contents and reboot.
