Sony vegas pro suddenly started running slow, how to fix this?

I have Sony vegas pro 14 and I've had it for a few months now and it worked perfectly fine. However, starting today it began running extremely slow. It opens and it functions but freezes between every operation and just moving the time cursor one frame over or clicking any of the menu options is taking forever. It was working fine yesterday. I've tried unintentionally and reinstalling, restarting my computer, and even got Sony vegas pro 13 again to see if that would run any smoother (it didn't.) I mainly edit in after effects but I prefer cutting my clips and adding the more basic effects in Sony. So any help is really much appreciated. It is a cracked version and I have windows 10 on a toshiba laptop. I'm not the most computer savvy so simple terms would be much appreciated.

"Cracked" as in pirated? You won't get help here with pirated software.
