Who cares if The 'Move' is a rip-off of the wii-mote, When i first got the wii when it came out I was very disappointed in the controller. it didn't work how i expected it to, i think everyone was sort of under the impression it would be a more 1 to 1 experience then the gesture based mechanics we've come accustomed to, the 'move' however finally provides me with what ive been waiting for, true 1 to 1. I'm glad they ripped off the wii-mote, now theres a motion controller that is actually usable and works, and which is now on a gaming console that doesn't totally suck.

[citation][nom]Gin Fushicho[/nom]Am I the only one that immediately thought "Playstation p***s"?[/citation]
Am I the only one that thought "totally giving this to a hot chick"?

StarWars games please!

[citation][nom]vant[/nom]Completely agree. It looks like a blatant ripoff of the Wiimote. And of course since it's Tom's Hardware, we have to throw in an Apple bash in a completely nonrelevent article.[/citation]
No. Wiimote doesn't come with a camera that "sees" where your "..mote" is. And who cares, who invented it first.

Nothing Blizzard does is "new". Yet it's the most successful game developer company.

Just seems like a gimmick to me, I doubt it will be any thing more than a niche market, therefore lacking the software to sell it and make it mainstream.

If Sony really want to grab a bigger market share, they have to just do one simple thing, get their game developers to include mouse and keyboard support for gaming, especially FPS. FFS The sony supports a mouse and keyboard already, I really don't get why these dumb ass developers don't see the potential extra sales by including it, they would only have to develop the sub routines once then apply to each game, how hard can it be?

Until then, I will stay with my PC thanks :)

[citation][nom]moveme[/nom]put force feedback into the device and i see a whole new genre of games being made.... as well as the female demographic of sony ps3 owners going through the roof[/citation]

I doubt could successfully put force feedback in such a small device. Since the controller isn't fixed to a desk, I would assume that you would need some super fast spinning gyro's inside it in order to feel some sort of resistance that would resemble force feedback. It's all about elements of physics. I'm sure they could put in some sort of "rumble pack" though.

I bet I can remember the name of the current PS3 controller if I try hard enough. But who cares. If it works, fine. If they'll make a good enough light sabre game I might even buy it.

In the end this'll be just a gimmick. Developers just cant target this small an audience without making the game work just as well with the standard controller, which in turn spoils the limits of innovation.

Gilbert crysis on the ps3 can support keyboard and mouse aswell as the normal controler and the move if crytek wants it to.

The most fun I had with the wiimote (with the add on) was with wii resorts with the kendo sword fighting.

I think this would be great with star wars light saber games, Assassins creed games, God of War, and any other sword game. FPS would be good to.

Imagine this coupled with 3D???

Now if PS3 comes out with tools and libraries to easily port over their Wii games, or at least easily make comparable games, it will have a winner. If not, well it will still remain just the PS3 ^_^

I need something better than SOCOM to be tempted to buy it.. Something more like the show they did last year, pointing the bow and shooting, grabing a mace and killing things, having a sword/shield on you..

(offtopic: I'm unable to hide/show comments around here, anyone else is having this issue??)

Hopefully this is not a repeat post, but am I the only one that has NO desire to jump around in my house in order to play a video game? If I wanted to do all that work I would just go outside and actually do something. Its not like some $20 or $100 device with current technology is going to be able to control a game character more precisely than joysticks or KB/mouse.. and yes there is a WII im my house, its cool for golf and Mario old school but that's about it. If I were a console gamer I'd be asking are they also providing a NORMAL controller with these new systems??

Wow... What would PlayStation be if Sony did not copy everyone else :/ First they copy Microsoft with the 'Guide' button... No the freaking Wii Remote is be copied by them too? What gives Sony?
BE ORIGINAL FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!
