Sound bar and TV connection

I ordered a soundbar and the only plug it has is an optical in and my tv has nothing like that. The only plugs my tv have are the s video cable and a hdmi's. What cables do I need for the connection to work?

What tv is it?

We need to determine if theres any audio output at all from the tv otherwise soundbar wont work no matter what you do.

Only option might be headphone to toslink, if the tv has headphone jack.

The TV is an LG Model 42LT560E

Your tv has external speaker out in the form of 3.5mm audio pin. Can take that to an Rca Y split cable, left and right and convert to optical.

Thats really all you can do, convert analog to digital so look around for converters.
