Sound bar with audio optical

I bought an LG sound bar NB3530A. It only has an optical in connection, whereas my TV does not. Is there a workaround?

If you are not looking for the "surround sound" features, The specs seem to list a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This can be used with an adapter to get left + right(White and Red RCA) audio from most TV's.

We removed our Bose system and replaced it with this, so yes, we want some sort of surround sound.
There seems to be no option to hook up the bar with the TV, unless you have optical in.

I am sure it will Simulate surround sound.

How was the Bose system connected?

Mea culpa. My husband, who is no techie, didn't see the existing optical in on the TV. I looked myself, hooked up the unit, and it is working beautifully. Thank you so much for your answer.
