Is no big deal because typically a TV cannot "pass thru" surround information out to your audio system anyways. The only trouble will be if you doing ATSC (antenna) and expect surround from the broadcast station.
If you are using a cable box for TV, wire a Toslink from cable box to your AV Receiver.
Same thing if you are hooking up an xbox, wire a separate digital audio cable directly to the AV Receiver.
As you can see, if you have MANY things to hook up, your "audio system" better have ALL required inputs, and lets cut this short, the only thing that can provide you with multiple digital/analog input is an AV Receiver.
