So me and my roommate both want a nice speaker setup for music and our TV if possible to link. Whatever speakers we get we wanna be able to hook up to each other. we each want to buy one or two speakers and maybe a subwoofer if recommended. but bottom line were each going to buy half and may not live together next year so whatever we want to buy we want to be able to leave with separately and work them separately. So we are thinking of each buying a speaker and a subwoofer that will all link together but also work separately. So total maybe two speakers and two subs or 3 speakers and 3 subs, we are each looking to spend no more than 200 each but would like it cheaper if possible. Thank you!

Solution
You would need to buy passive stereo speakers, powered sub, and a receiver to use with them.
If one buys the receiver and the other the 2.1 speakers then you could split the system later.
If you buy a $200 5.1 speaker set up with optical input for the TV and 5.1 input for the PC then one of you can buyout the other when your split up.
Or get a soundbar for the TV and separate speakers for music. You each buy one and keep the one you bought when you split.

Thank you so much, is there anyway you can send me like everything we'd need with amazon links or something?
