Hello.

Since I changed my power supply a few months ago, my speakers has been making a humming noice whenever my PC is on, sometimes worse than other, but constantly there, and it's really starting to drive me nuts.
I've tried connecting my speakers to my phone, and then it disappeared.
There was nothing before i changed my power supply, so I guess it has something to do with that, but I can't figure out what.

I appreciate all input.

If the hum sounds like 60hz (search for 60hz hum online) then there is a problem with a ground loop (bad PSU design / open ground). You can get a small cable that has an isolation transformer for about $10 to fix it:

http://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI-1-3-5-3-5-mm-Isolator/dp/B001EAQTRI

Radio Shack sells them too.

What PSU is it? Generally they keep the AC (input side) away from the rectified DC (output side) and filter the DC pretty well.

Good Luck

Sounds like you have a ground loop issue, (click here for involved explanation- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_loop_%28electricity%29 but simply put some your wiring is bleeding magnetic fields that interfere with other cabling's signals). The simplest thing to try first is to "twist" your power and audio cabling around each other to form a bundle, sometimes this will cause the stray fields to cancel out. If that doesn't work you can try changing cabling, or do a search for hardware solutions, like an isolation transformer, to ground loops.

this. and maybe try using ferrite choke ring around your cable.

Thanks for the answers so far.
Unfortunately it doesn't sound like that 60hz hum. It's kind of hard to explain but it sounds more like a buzzing, like a bee is stuck inside the speakers.
My PSU is Corsair HX850i, it was quite expensive, so I'm a bit disappointed if it turns out to be a bad design.

If it's a higher frequency, it might be interference from a wireless device (keyboard/mouse). Does the sound stop when you mute aux input / mic input / or the headphone output? (Try to mute things one-by-one in the sound control panel.)

BTW: does it sound like this:

You can try the isolator. I linked the thread because you *could* call Corsair and see if they will RMA it (replace it) for you. Buy the isolator from a store that will allow returns (if it doesn't work, you can return it).
