We need a bit more detail - what make and model TV and what types of plugs are on the speakers? Are they powered or just passive speakers?

If your speakers are passive (no power cord) then you will need an integrated amplifier or receiver to power them. Most TVs have optical digital audio out so you would need a receiver with optical input (any AV receiver). If you wanted to use a stereo receiver then a DAC like this one

could be used to convert to analog. Your TV volume control would not control the volume of the speakers so you would want remote control on the receiver.
