I managed to spill soda on my laptop 2 days ago. Tried starting it but nothing happens. The battery charge light turns on and that's the only sign of life. Could it be that the keyboard is fried or is it more likely that the whole laptop is fried? Anyway to open it up, clean it with some isopropyl alcohol? Can I jump start it somehow? I've tried to find the power on the motherboard but have not yet been able to do so.

Thank you.

Rice will help with water, but not with sugar. You need to remove the residue that is likely shorting the system to have any chance of it working.

Then I would have to open up the whole system and clean it with isopropanol. Guess it's my only shot before buying a new laptop. There's no chance it's just the keyboard that's dead? I wanted to try to jump start the laptop but I can't find the power connectors on the motherboard.

Thanks.
