Question SSD for 2013 Macbook Pro?

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and I've run out of space on my 250 GB SSD. I definitely need more space.

The only problem is...which internal SSD will be compatible? I'm running Mac OSX Mavericks right now, but I'm upgrading to Sequoia via Open Core Legacy Patcher later on.

Would a Samsung 990 PRO work okay? Thanks in advance.

What is the type of SSD?
Need to be specific with this.
Likely it is a SATA III drive.

Unlikely it is an NVMe, and it DEF is not a Gen 4 or 5 NVMe like the 990 Pro.
