Haters gonna hate, but I like this idea. It's kind of cool to know that a new Star Wars film in 3D will come out ever year starting 2012. I'd definitely go to see them. Also, a YEAR conversion for each one? DAMN SON!!

All anyone needs to know about Star Wars is Obi-wan saying "It's over Anakin, I have the high ground.".

This was the climax of the trilogy. This lame, idiotic, nonsensical line was the best Lucas could come up with? He creates this universe with a "force", and a few feet of high ground hold sovereignty over everything else? He really couldn't think of anything better? That's how he chose to end the most important scene of the trilogy? Good grief.

"George Lucas has wanted to do a 3D release for a long time but was waiting for the number of 3D screen to increase to ensure a sizable release"
I think he said the same about CG images in his movie, no?
What will be the "next big thing" that George Lucas "wanted to do, but was waiting for..."?
Anyway, I'm not sure I'm going to see it, I slept during Star Wars Episode 2... too long, too boring

Why not make a new inspiring creation? Ohh wait it was about George Lucas, milking starwars since 1977 wich at its tme was amazing. Now its only regular, remastered, 3d, soon 3d remastered and then make a directors cut in all of the flavors before, nothing really new! BOORING!

I hate feeding GL my money but lets face it most of us will probably end up going to the movies and watching this movie again. Starwars junkie...

Maybe episodes 1, 2, and 3 would be ok. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 I highly recommend a remake. These 3 were really showing there age when the digital remastering was done.

Dammit George, do you have any idea how many times I've purchased these movies, because I sure don't! I've had at least 2 copies on VHS (I skipped Laser Disc) a couple copies of each episode on DVD, and planning on getting the Blu Ray releases at some point... now 3D? GAH! There needs to be some sort of trade-in program if you end up buying the same movies over and over again...

OK I am a Star Wars fan, but come on now. The argument on both sides could be made for 3d so I'll leave that one alone, but the prequels. Pleeeaaaassse! I could see the classic Star Wars going 3d, do not know if they would be any good or not, but the prequels blew. Sorry to the fans out there I am one but lets be real here they blew. Lucas I really hate to tell you this but its over, done, time to move on.

Who didn't see this coming? Everytime there's new tech, they have to release it again, sheesh!

Star Wars is like Elvis... people should just let it die already.

[citation][nom]dxwarlock[/nom]Is it just me, or does Lucaus remind anyone else of the old washed up ex highschool football player, that keeps reminding everyone about his one touchdown that won the state finals? He's milking his past achievements for all its worth, without doing anything remotely commendable in 30 years.. and the milk dried up long ago.[/citation]
hahahah . . . Uncle Rico!

[citation][nom]Phate[/nom]I still want an original release without the CG effects. Hard to find anymore.[/citation]
I've got the original trilogy in glorious un-CGI on VHS tape.
It's currenly decomposing in a box in my attic along with all the other junk I don't want.
You want to buy it?

Hey, George, instead of re-3Ding the original trilogy, why don't you just remake it completely.

You have already destroyed more peoples childhoods than the average Catholic priest, so why not go the whole hog and bastardize "A New Hope" as well, maybe put Justin Beiber in for Luke Skywalker and Britney Spears for Princess Leia, y'know, just to bring the whole sordid affair down to the level of Jar Jar.

George, you are an assclown.

Dear George,

Just take the cleanest copy of the original three releases, use ILM to do there magic to clean them up the best they can at 1080p.

Do not add any effects, do not add any new scenes, do not add any new music, do not swap new actors with the old actors (I'm looking at you ghost Anakin and Palpatine).

Take the best original audio source you have available and re-master it to 7.1 DTS-MA.

Take the second trilogy, pick all three up with a pooper-scooper and put them in a pile to burn, or go ahead and clean them up too... I don't care.

Do that George, and your fans will finally be happy.

Greedo shot first. Leave it be!

After Indiana Jones and the Revenge of the Gits of the Old Republic gets released in 2015, heres hoping Lucas will have himself a good long nap in his room at Shady Pines Retirement Home.
