Startup repair cannot repair my laptop

Hello,
I recently became a dsl customer and subsequently routed my dsl modem to a lynksys wireless router. It has been working just fine until today. I turned on my Toshiba satellite laptop os vista and it took me to the startup repair screen and i attempted to do the repair however i get the message that startup repair cannot repair. the only change i made when setting up the wirelss router was the ppoe. My laptop did not come with recovery discs of any sort. can you help
