Question Static in studio monitors when laptop plugged into external monitor (USB-C)

I have two Rokit 5 studio monitors plugged into my MacBook Pro via XLR to 3.5 cable. When laptop is being charged by normal charging cable, all is fine. However, when I plug my external monitor in to the laptop via a USB-C (laptop now being powered from usb-c cable from monitor), I get a ton of static in the speakers. Cant figure it out! please help...thank you

Realized I was using unbalanced cables...could this be the issue?

Unbalanced cables are much more likely to pickup local interference. So if you can used balanced, I'd always use them.
