First off, I am still upset about the whole DRM thing. Because of that, I will never buy another game from ubisoft again until they lift the DRM and apologize to all the faithful customers they basically S#!T on. I buy all my games. Yes I have tried pirated games before, but only as demo's if there isn't a demo out, but I truly believe in supporting the devs. as I think pirating is hurting the industry and if a company makes a good game that I like, I want to support that company so they can make more games. As far as ubisoft, I vowed never to play this game because of the DRM. Basically I think this hacker did ubisoft a favor, because everyone knows that while pirating is bad, in cases like these where games aren't gonna make sales because of major F**K UPS like the drm, then pirates are doing ubisoft a favor by basically spreading the game and advertising it to there friends, who in turn go out and buy the damn thing. So, I don't think people should pirate this game, because I don't think ubisoft deserves anything good out of this, even if it isn't on purpose. I don't think anyone should buy, pirate, put up wallpaper, talk about the game, or buy any games from ubisoft until they fix things. I also don't think they deserve a damn capital letter in front of there name, But hey, thats just my opinion.

Are you ass clowns stupid enough to actually believe its ok to steal a game and pirate it? Or that its "just a $60 game"? This action cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. The culprit is lucky he doesn't spend five years in jail, rather than just probation.

I really fear for the future of the human race, when an entire message board of people is too stupid to realize that the games they love to play are only developed because someone can make money by making them...and if crimes like the above go unchecked, soon you kiddies won't have any new toys to play with.

If you actually did it and you think they have enough evidence on you. Pleading guilty and cooperating is the best coarse of action. For pirating a game that has reached millions of people, it could have been far worse then $25k. It could have been in the millions.

Pretty sure Theft under $5000 doesn't get you a $25,000 fine. If I went and stole a game from a store, I'd get a slap on the wrist if I apologized and returned it.

the drm on the pc version isnt that bad, ive just got to remember to start my fake server whenever i play it

i got the game for £20 casue loads of people complained in coments before it was released

and why should drm only afect paying customers?
cause it is only a matter of time before people break through it look at that person last year who hacked into the pentigon or something and they were suposed to have best secuity


what im trying to say is it is always easier to break something than create it so it will allways be like this

one thing i do feel bad about whot the new Bioshock it got cracked and seeded 1 week before relese and its based on single player i do think they got hit hard by it. but the first one whos not to good and the second one is almost as much crap as far cry 2.

fiskfisk33 you are bassically sayiing you pirated it all you need is to replace the ubisoft launcher with the patched on and get the server.exe file simple then all you do is load server when you want to play game and you only have ot update the server definitions once

It's not an ethical or legal thing to do. But for as long as I can actually remember using the computer there's always been a way to get something without paying for it. Napster, KAZAA, Limewire, bittorrent. In all instances, the fact of the matter is, it just happens. There's nothing right about it, but there's also nothing right about these corporations making shit loads of money, paying their employees crap wages and cutting 20,000 jobs because the last game didn't break a sales cap that they set, even though they can still pay all of the bills and get rich off of a shitty game. So is it legal or ethical? No, but it happens and it's an accepted practice because none of these corporations have ethical practices either.

Did you know most of the electronic items you have in your house is stolen technology? industrial espionage is rampant in the high tech field such as electronics the reason why capacitors blow is because the formula for the electrolytic fluid was stolen from a competitor and somewhere down the line formula was missing a line or value.
Chips, capacitors ect. designs have all been stolen most of the technology in windows has been stolen and the list goes on that is how America keeps competitive everyone steals from someone else.

Read other comments.. the cost of the game has nothing to do with the size of the fine.

We suffer becuase Pirates have no Jobs! Its about time they get out of their moms basement and get a job, and stop f'ing us all up.

Pirating is too much in our face these days, thats why it gets all the attention. If I was to hack something, I wouldn't share it. Other people can go learn how to do it themselves! So, becuase the hackers are getting too social about their cracks, DRM exists. Becuase pirating is getting so bad, people who would never pirate are getting sucked in either finding it on google, or fraud, or from someone else. I have a PC shop, and I got sick of people asking me for 'free windows / office', or comming into the store with some pirated software. Pirating is a bigger problem then people thing. Sometimes all it takes, is a person does a favour for a friend by loading windows. And now the friends thinks things don't cost money or wants more free. I see it happening wiht guys who burn movies or people who got a few burned movies from friends. I must of got 10 requests a day from software pirates at my store. waste of my time. I am in buisness to sell software, not to give it away for free.

I closed down my store last year, so I am happy as I don't have to deal with those low lifes anymore.
