Steelseries Siberia V2 (Non-USB) - Computer not detecting surround sound

Hello,

I have recently bought the Steelseries Sibera V2 headset and my computer will only play stereo sound when they are plugged in (rear audio jacks) rather than the 7.1 surround sound that is advertised. I am using Windows 8.1 and my front audio jacks do not detect any sort of headset at all when I try to plug them in if this is worth mentioning. Is this a hardware related issue or do I just not have the correct sound drivers installed? Help is greatly appreciated.

The 3.5mm version is only stereo. One audio jack is only capable of stereo sound.
