[citation][nom]jgalecio[/nom]'closed system'....Wow 'Communist Republic of Apple' Proven?[/citation]

I love how when American's disagree with anyone they automatically call them 'socialists or communists.' If you knew the meaning of either term then you would realize that Apple is anything but 'communist.' If anything they are hardcore capitalist's determined to create a monopoly like the railroads did in the 1800's, they way Ma Bell did in the 1900s, and the way the medical insurance industry is doing now. What separates Apple from these industries is that the consumer now has the right to choose other products/platforms...can't say that about health insurance.

Wow, ignorance of economic systems proven!

'Capitalist Republic of Apple' Proven? Happy now?

I know the difference between capitalist and communism. Both are fucked up in their own respective way but Apple seem to merge the both together with an emphasis on later. Sure they don't kill thousands of people who disagree with them they just bust down the fucking doors and take their shit in the name of Intellectual property or they sue the shit out of you or they bribe you into shutting the fuck up.

I love how people get Apple mixed up as some "good guy" company, when they are doing far more than MS has ever done to capture and hold their little world under their own control, and screw over as many of their customers as they can in the process.

I know a lot of people who see Apple is exactly the opposite of what their fans say they are. Apple fans are just too stupid to see it.

Seems to me he's had some people express their dislike towards his crappy attitude, and finally realized that it'd be in his best interest to set his ENORMOUS ego aside and make up a fake apology. Classic.

does anyone else get enraged every time they hear something about apple now days? i mean seriously if we erased apple from the face of the earth (joke) there really wouldn't be much of an impact, they invented 4-5 things that they will not let others touch, and seriously if they weren't made by apple i bet others would have made the same things shortly after (and not patent them or sue people from using them, seriously people?). does anyone else feel the same way or am i just more upset than i should be?

I think the world would be better off without Apple.

Of course, some of you want Ms Windows 7 or Mac OSX or iPhone OS or Adobe class of software for free or low profit and as an open standard for everyone to do what they could think off. If not this is evidence of some communist or socialist practice. Who says this? The dictator of "everything should be the idealistic way I think". The world has mayor problems but simplistic, selfish and non realistic thinking is not going to create the progress we all need.

As for Adobe and Apple they want the same as a big business companies but they were not on the same interest with the iDevices as Apple is now capable to create a bigger part of a platform and provide manny software tools that work better for them. Yes, this means a closed system and closed on Apple terms as long as is legal. But who is stopping Adobe or any other company to create a better closed or open system?

Some of you simply blame Apple for being capable to control more software and hardware parts of their own computer device (no invention mentioned here) but the lack of capability from others to create their own commercially successful devices is not evidence of socialism. And be prepared for more companies to create more closed system style of business in this decade because its working.

[citation][nom]dgingeri[/nom]"Steve Jobs: I Respect and Admire Adobe"Why?? I don't. They make crappy software and never patch it, then force everyone to deal with it. I hate Adobe. Then again, I hate Apple software too. Quicktime demands it is to take over all media file playback on install, even though it doesn't have half the features of Media Player, then it screws up we browser settings all over the place. iTunes is just as crappy. Now, MS, they have some decent software. There is a reason they are the leading software company. They do things far better than any other software company I've dealt with. They aren't perfect, no, but they are better than the rest. At least they patch stuff.[/citation]

Any post that blasts both quicktime and itunes is an automatic thumbs up!

As for the article, I got this out of it: "I don't want their closed system hampering my ability to hamper the technology on my closed system."

[citation][nom]thrust2night[/nom]If he calls his recent behavior as respecting and admiring Adobe, I would like to hear the things he would say if he hated them.[/citation]

Have you ever heard of the KKK? Well, it's kind of like that.

Its all about keeping Apple users buying from Apple content providers then anything else. Steve Jobs is all about marketing and steering people into spending more dollars is where its at.

the iphone is more closed than flash!!! i can't put my own apps on there!!! he is such a hypocrite it is not even funny, i just want to punch him across the face. there are few people who i truly wish death on, he is one of them.

Hmm... you guys are morons... I can't even get through reading half of the comments on the first page. Have yet to read anything intelligent. Supposed to be tech geeks on this site. All I see are a bunch of biased fanboys who don't know what they're talking about, though.

I couldn't say it better myself.

[citation][nom]bonezy[/nom]Is it me, or does the author of this article have some extreme bias for Steve Jobs / Apple? Sounds like an apologetic's defense letter for his client, not a tech article.[/citation]
It's just Kevin Parrish, don't mind him, this is his blogsite.

[citation][nom]pinkeyes[/nom]Do you know what closed means? Flash is most definitely a "closed platform" you cannot edit the source code to change it's functionality. The point here is that developers should be able to use anything they want (Flash included).[/citation]

Flash doesn't require products created for it to be "Approved". Once you buy the authoring software, you can create what you like. It's not that way with Apple.

[citation][nom]ksampanna[/nom]Yes, we do believe that.[/citation]
When posting something sarcastic, its a trend here to add /sarcasm, because you are bound to get some thumbs down from someone, as not everyones sarcasm machine is perfect...
