Steve Jobs Sends Chilean Miners Free iPods

Compared to how much money jobs has it's like he threw a nickle to a bum while driving by at 90 miles an hour in his Veyron . He should have given them a large chunk of money if he really wanted to help. Much like the rich Chilean man gave them each $10k.

I think Apple wont have any signal there in the mine. No Apple wouldnt want that kind of negative publicity. Now it makes me wonder if Apple just had to make sure they survive before giving it to them.

I hope you apply your attitude towards all CEO's. At least the likes of Jobs, Gates, etc., were on the ground floor when they started their companies and now employ thousands of American's.

Given the Chilean economy, regardless of what they were sent it would be held in high esteem. I am sure that their iPods are devices that few have in Chile, especially underpaid laborers.

Is anyone else thinking that Apple is still going to make money here in the way of iTunes? It doesn't seem to mention giving the miners a few $100 worth of music for 'said free ipods'. :/

Haven't these poor miners suffered enough? The sunglasses make complete sense (you've been in the dark for 60 days). But to torture them further by giving them iPods? No thanks, I'll go back into the mine. If they had PSPs, how did they recharge them? Or did they have juice down there?

Seriously though, I think I get what you're saying- unfortunately there's a limit to what people can do and we can't save everyone. All we can do is our best, like I am clearly doing right now by posting this inspirational message 😉
