Streaming dvd to tv from pc

I have connected my laptop to my smart tv via an hdmi lead but when i play a dvd the picture will not fit full screen. I don't want to have to buy a new dvd player as trying to get rid of all the trails of leads! Whats my best option to play dvds?

Don't use clone, use extend!

Any normal dvd software will work, if you want something lightweight just use MPC-HC. Just remember to set the TV to "pc" or "no overscan" or "underscan" or "dot by dot" mode or else it will zoom in slightly
