Ok, so I'm looking to buy a laptop in the US for when I fly out there. I've found two on Newegg and they are:

GIGABYTE P34Wv4-BW1T

MSI GE Series GE72 Apache Pro-242 Gaming Laptop

Now, I know they are fairly different but there's several features each have which is making it hard to decide.

The MSI has:
A bigger screen
A better keyboard
A better build quality
More RAM

The Gigabyte has/is:
Lighter
Slimmer
SSD as well as a HDD

I could always just buy an m.2 SSD for the MSI laptop but that does void the warranty. It's just the MSI has better reviews and I think the bigger screen is better for gaming. But I think the Gigabyte will be easier to travel with.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or any other recommendations?

I would take the Msi one. While the Gigabyte one runs a little to hot for my liking so I would advise against it. M. 2 doesn't void warranty as its easily accessible.
