Stuck in automatic repair loop.

I switched on my toshiba to do some homework when it said "diagnoseing your pc" i left this for about 5 hours and nothing changed. In a continues loop.many ideas ow to fix I know I can go back to windows 7 and fix but I don't want to lose files since I have family members on there I can't go visit anymore. So it's very important that I can keep them. Thanks Richard.

you could try cmos reset by unplug the ac and remove battery then press power on after put ac on and if your hdd is good system should restart and not loosing anything .
