Hello everyone, I need help!

Sager NP8651 / Clevo P650SE laptop
CPU i7-4710HQ
GPU Nvidia GeForce 970m
Crucial MX 500gb SSD
8gb of RAM

One day my laptop is running games just fine (WoW and Overwatch) and literally the next I'm having a lot of stuttering / erratic FPS in game. I've had this laptop for 3 and a half years now and this is the only issue it's given me. I've done a complete fresh install of windows, updated my drivers (398.82 for graphics with DDU, WiFi and audio), disabled the windows gaming bar, disabled full screen optimization for both .exe game files and made 100% sure the games are running on my 970m and not the integrated card. I've also messed with v-sync on and off, full screen vs windowed and "prefer maximum power" mode in Nvidia control panel but none of this has made the stuttering go away.

Overwatch ingame- This is just me holding W

I ran a Passmark performance test and got these results -Passmark- apparently my CPU is dying?? According to Passmark, my i7-4720HQ should be around 8000. The highest temp the CPU reached was 90°C and lowered to about 84°C after about 20min.

I went to a local computer repair shop to have them check it out and they said the GPU passed a stress test. All they could find bad on the laptop was my hard drive (had 3 failed sectors). I upgraded to an SSD hoping that would fix the issue but no joy. Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it? I am really lost on what to do next and any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

you have run a RAM mem check? just to be sure your RAM is ok.

when you checked your cpu did you check to see if the paste was ok ... 3 1/2 years is a good while maybe a repaste is required? thermal throttle on a laptop might be more strict than a desktop (as a laptop 'might' be on your lap and 100 degrees will leave you with burns)

CPU fan is clean. The fan seems to be working just fine, it's not making any funny noises and definitely blowing air out. CPU speeds while playing are very erratic, The lowest I saw was 0.85 GHz and highest was 2.53 GHz with utilization around 15%. Out of game while typing this reply it's sitting consistently around 3.50 GHz +/- .05....Is this normal? I'm just using task manager to see the speed so I have to tab out of the game for it, is that ok? or do I need to download some monitoring software.

In advanced power settings > processor power management - I have the maximum processor state set to 100%. Is this the same as checking bios?

Just repasted the cpu and gpu. After taking off the heat syncs I found a lot more dust on the inside that I couldn't see. Gave her a good blow out plus the re-paste and no more stuttering! Thank you for the help!
