subwoofer wont work

hi
i have a subwoofer for my pc that used to work before i updated to windows 10 (all my drivers are up to date) and it just work now. when i open audio manager and do a playback test the speakers and wubwoofer both play sound back however when i go into games etc. only my speakers work and my subwoofer does nothing

How is everything connected? Is the sub connected to a separate subwoofer output on the sound card or is it a single wire to the sub then from the sub to the speakers?
