Hi everyone I need some good advice! I have been searching and browsing trying to learn as much as I can before I settle on a product I want to purchase.
Budget:
Preferred $100
No more than $200
What I'm looking for:
I tend to have a lot of parties ranging from 20 on the low end and 80-120 on the max end. I would like to invest a little money in a PA speaker that can play a good variety of music. Including the modern day techno (dubstep) that uses a lot of bass. Generally the speakers I am looking to purchase would be placed outdoors as well.( I would be using more than likely a standard ipod to play music off of)
I've been considering a Powered Speaker, that way I don't have to bother with setting up too much gear(amp) and can just haul 1 pa around in my car.
-This however does not cancel out my undecided opinion on using Non-Powered PA speakers and an Amp, as in the future I would ultimately like to purchase two PA speakers and link them(Not sure if an amp would be required to do so).
So here's the question:
1.) Would 1 Powered PA Speaker be able to sustain music for what I would like to use it for OR do you suggest going with One non-powered PA speaker with an Amp to start( and thus add more speakers a couple paychecks down the road).
2.) Suggested Speaker Sizes would also be great. 15" look like they could handle the job, but possible overkill and need to consider my poor wallet.
Any recommendations on what I should purchase that won't burn to big of a whole in my pocket (not over $200) would be VERY appreciated.
P.S. I am Open to either options just not sure what would be suitable for my situation and my money. I assume a speaker and amp would be more however I could be wrong.
Thanks very much to everyone who can help out! =]
