Suggestions on what laptop to purchase 2018

I am trying to decide on what laptop I should get, I thought maybe anyone who has knowledge technically on computer specifications can help me out. I am basically going to college soon to a different country as an international student and unfortunately I dont have much knowledge when it comes to computer parts and contents. I am going to take a course that involves Video editing and 3D animation, rendering and other 3D works. I am also at the same time looking for laptops that I can play games with. A laptop that can run next gen graphics games, like the ones coming out recently. I also am limited to my budget which I am aiming to be hopefully and if possible under $1500. I am open though to laptops under $2000 too.

I am seeking for a nice advice. I am an international student who will be leaving soon for a course I am taking which covers 3D Animation. I am looking for a really nice laptop at the same that would not be that very expensive too. As much as possible, I'm trying to keep it in $1600 and below but feel free to suggest anything. I plan to use it to play games on, might be with next-gen graphics games in the future. I will also be mostly do a lot of 3D Animation and rendering and such as Video-editing on it. I don't really mind if it would be an AMD or NVIDIA in regards with the graphics card but yea just feel free to recommend.

I apologize for asking this because I am really not that literate when it comes to computer components. I appreciate everyone's comments.

I use the MSI GE17. Back in the day it was over 2k but you can purchase it now for roughly around the price you are looking for. It is a very good laptop. Thin and easier for traveling compared to other heavy duty laptops. It also has great cooling and strong enough to play even some of the most recent games out.

You could spend a little more and it the upgraded version that has a 1070 in it instead of an older 970 but thats up to your budget.

Here is a GE72 for 1k used if you are interested. I'd purchase the warranty if it comes with one since it is used.
