[citation][nom]Haserath[/nom]Yet the more we use technology to enhance ourselves, the more de-evolution takes place. What happens when we rely on this technology then it disappears? I know, we shouldn't care about that since we probably won't have to worry about it in our lives(blah blah blah all about us blah blah blah who cares about the future populace blah blah blah). Then you could also have people that use the technology to implant thoughts into users(ie mind control). Yeah, 'it won't happen' until it happens; our brains create memories using voltage, so this could possibly do something like that. Call me crazy...[/citation]
realisticly, if all technology ever just dissapeared without any contingency plan, it would be an event or situation where even if we didnt rely on it, most of the world would be dead anyway
you have to also assume that if tech is around, some of it would work for a while probably saveing lives...
and with mind control... i wont call you crazy, but the tech is nowhere near that level, and reguardless of if you like it or not, we will advance to that level.
hell the world of deus ex human revolution could happen in my life time,
[citation][nom]house70[/nom]This is SOOOO much BS, I don't even know where to start...DBS and TMS (which deploys magnetic fields) are just in their infancy, use is limited and sketchy at best right now, medical evidence the same, and if any fool here is willing to believe a commercial device is already medically proven to work and pay for it, then by all means he/she deserves to be fleeced. Even for proven technology (like, say laser hair removal), commercially available devices are just pi$$-poor weak non-effective pieces of cr@p. But go ahead, fools, spend your money, some people in these start-ups need jobs, as well. It's a free-for-all market, and one's ignorance is another's treasure. Besides, who knows, one of you might be lucky and get some placebo effect, which is just as good as the real thing...[/citation]
yea things like hair removal are poor quality comertially... but lets put it this way, for less than 50$ i can buy a compositor strong enough to kill myself, if they read the documentation, getting something to run the voltage and amperage correctly could be made very cheap... its the difference between mass produce and special order.
and if they want to release something like this, they have to have some amount of government regulation, considering a large amount of fraud and possible injury if these things work
