SURFACE PRO 4 - Permanent 'Sleep of Death'?

Long story short, OS froze so I held power button to force shutdown I plugged in a USB keyboard that illuminates. When I turn on my device the keyboard lights up but my screen stays off and Windows Hello light won't turn on. I've tried every solution I read like the two button force reset, etc. Nothing is working and Microsoft likes to build their devices solid so I'm terrifed about having to possibly heat the screen to pry it up to take it apart. Getting a replacement is not an option. I have very very important files on the SSD.
