the purpose of getting rid of the gba port is to move the entire old generation of gb players into the new generation of ds players. did it work, yes because people are buying it and there is a small amount of whiners out there, the hardcore whiners.

those additionall features are there for a reason. go figure out what those reasons are.

Funny how fast I get tired of DS so quick. Bought the first bulky DS and a month later sold it. Buy this DSi and a month later got really boring too. Maybe I'm just waiting for that game with eye candy from Sony PSP platform but hell, Square_Enix is the only eye candy there. DS game has too many junk in the trunk.

[citation][nom]japnoise99[/nom]I have a PS3 and it collects a lot of dust. I got it when I was in the market for a Blueray player and found out Madden was not going to be released on PC anymore. Judging buy the amount of bluerays vs DVD's I buy I should have just bought a PS2 or XBOX Arcade and used the USB controller for the computer that I play 99% of my games on anyhow. Owe well at least madden should be released on it for the foreseeable future.[/citation]
not comenting on this post just using it as refence to teh one iu am commenting on
[citation][nom]pochacco007[/nom]to be clear here, ps3's main competition isn't with wii but 360 and it's vice versa for 360. there is no one competing with nintendo. nintendo is the only video game company left and they're the only ones who know how to make a video game console and video game software. wii sales will go crazy when motion plus is released.[/citation]

not commenting on this oen but needed it as refernce

[citation][nom]Tindytim[/nom]Anyone stupid enough to buy the same game every year shouldn't be criticizing anyone.[/citation]

who said he buys every madden game every year??? i don't recall him sayign any thing about owning every madden game released every year ??? sounds to me like you are aiming in the dark juat to put some one down so you can feel better about yourself.

i don't care what company si on top as long as no more companies die in teh hardware market, it deeply saddened me to see sega close thier hardware ventures down and revert to just software. It also upset me alot back in teh early 2000"s to see 3d FX go under, i think the more competiton in teh hardware market for consoles (or pc) the better. competiton = inovations at deceent prices, lack of competition = stagnation and over pricing.

I run linux on my original ds. I got the 9th one at my local walmart on release day, oh the wait... Has a web browser, a nice interface for all my snes, gba, gb, etc games. I have no need for another portable gaming device.

Has anyone actually read this article? WII is still #1 on the list. This article makes it look like #2 by adding the DSi and DS lite sales together.

PC is still the best for gaming. They never stop making games for it--it never gets replaced by another platform. Plus nothing beats a keyboard and mouse for precision.

i'm with u 110%. i bought my ps3 cuz it had built-in wifi. thats the only reason i chose it over the xbox 360. i really regret that decision... an xbox 360 arcade would have been alot cheaper and i could have used it without internet anyway. the only game i play on my ps3 is rock band, which isn't as fun as it used to be. i also play nhl 09, but i could have gotten that for pc too...

the dsi is crap, in aus it costs the same as the base 360 or ipod touch, and what do you get? a glorified gameboy with net access? not to mention the build quality is crap, i barely use my DS lite but that didn't stop it getting a dead pixel (not covered by warranty) and a broken hinge. I assume the ultimate goal of brain training is to realize you don't need this overpriced outdated device, a crossword will do just fine. don't get me wrong, I like the idea behind the ds, with its dual screens and touch, but it feels cheap, and its not, and it never comes down in price! mario cart DS still costs the same as it did when it came out AT LAUNCH! (btw nice work turning this into a ps3 vs xbox war, wanna know which is the best for gaming? the PC!)

no, but I did almost buy a PSP. Just couldn't justify either. I don't really like nintendo DS, the touch screen pisses me off, and the PSP is either going to be revamped, or if it isn't, I just don't have enough use for either to be compelling enough to purchase.

anyone stupid enough to make such a comment about a game they obviously know nothing about shouldn't be commenting.

it's a sports game duh.

one of the points of releasing it every year is to update the teams and rosters and difficulties and dynamics of each team and how they play versus each other. obviously people who are into football and the NFL don't want to play a game where '86 Chicago Bears are still the best team to choose from every year or the early '90's Dallas Cowboy's are. the madden franchise would never survive like that. maybe they could make it an upgrade each year but that might be a little impractical on a console. I believe sometimes they update graphics, stadiums, and animations to.

Obviously from the sales each year for Madden, according to your very bad opinion (bad in my opinion on your opinion) there must be a lot of stupid people out there.

Oh my God. The PS2 (released 2000) is outselling the PS3????

Why has someone in Sony not been fired or asked to commit Harakiri?
Does this company not understand the laughing stock it's creating for themselves. A PS3 should not be anymore than $199 at this point in time.

sony is probably keeping the ps2 alive since it doesn't lose money on the hardware. meanwhile software development can continue with the ps3 until more programmers get used to it. once the programming hits a stride, they will probably finally knock off the ps2 and hopefully turn the ps3 sales around.

PS3 had a shot, but their marketing sucks, they failed outright to obtain or retain console exclusives, they charge too much, and they are removing features like backward compatibility as time goes on. It's almost as if Sony is TRYING to kill the platform.

The problem is that Sony is unable to shake the "Loser" title that was given to it by the Media shortly after launch. Basically they made it seem that it was DOA, and consumers responded accordingly. Add in a struggling economy and it's just adding to the problems where the money's on the 360 for 3rd party developers. This means fewer titles and exclusives. It's a viscious cycle that hurt the original Xbox, which was a great system.

Sony as a corporation is failing on all fronts. Let's not forget Michael Lynton CEO of Sony films adding fuel to the fire of everyone's opinion of Sony as a whole...

"I'm a guy who doesn't see anything good having come from the Internet...(The Internet) created this notion that anyone can have whatever they want at any given time. It's as if the stores on Madison Avenue were open 24 hours a day. They feel entitled. They say, 'Give it to me now,' and if you don't give it to them for free, they'll steal it."

Since Al Gore created the internet does this mean Michael Lynton hates Al Gore?

They feel entitled. They say, 'Give it to me now,' and if you don't give it to them for free, they'll steal it."

Wow that's an awesome quote. Don't recall seeing it before. I suddenly feel like I'm part of the huddled masses, in rags begging from the man with the top hat.

"Please sir can I have some more?"

sony is in trouble because of microsoft. microsoft build the 360 as a pc'ish system, in essence it is a pc except it's main focus is on the multimedia/entertainment part instead of the all around features like in a pc.

here is a very interesting interview ,
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/episode-49-invisible-walls/46982
realize the guy says that when you make a game on the 360, it's basically a game for pc, 360 and ps3 game. it is important to understand this as he explains he is very lazy and doesn't care about making games for you other then to simply port them. as the game industry grows, if these people still exists, gaming will become very bad for everyone because the developers are becoming lazy and talentless. this interview is a clear sign of what is happening and what may become in this industry.

when one of the interviewed guest says that the wii is a genesis, in essence, it is a genesis because when the genesis was built by sega 15-20 years ago, it was built not as a pc but as a game machine.

to round it of, sony pushed ms and ms pushed sony back even harder. the only problem with ms is quality control. i would love to buy a 360 there are two problems with the 360, severe malfunctions and it's manly [machoism].
