Surround sound or whatever?

I have the ATH-AH700(headphones) from newegg, my motherboard is an Asus P5QC, im trying to figure out how to make like a 5.1 or 7.1 speaker surround sound. Do i need to buy a sound card? help please!

my goal is to make my cod mw2 experience better with the surround sound.

Your Asus P5QC is capable of 5.1 or 7.1, what you need is speaker system that can handle your multichannel application.
