Swithching Sim cards

I have taken my niece's HTC one M8 away from her due to behavior issues and she is refusing to give me the passcode so I can read text messages and view photos... Can I put her nano sim in an adaptor and place it into my HTC one and be able to read her text messages adn see photos?
