do cell phone companies such as t-mobile allow unlocked phones on their network such as an unlocked iphone?

If you have an unlocked iphone could you get a T-Mobile® webConnect™ SIM card and activate it with a Mobile Broadband Pass such as the 300MB for $30/mouth and put in an in iphone for data only?

and can you just get a T-Mobile WebPak and for say the 500MB for $25 or is that just to add to an already existing plan?

i have the textfree app for iphone that can call and text and it also gives you a number that's why i would like data only
