Hi everyone!
I recently got a used X220 tablet, really in love with the hardware.
Immediately took it apart, cleaned it, applied fresh thermal paste and now it runs constantly in boosted mode with no thermal issues!

The only problem I ran into is that in Tablet mode (Rotating the screen and folding it) the laptop starts almost immediately outputting lava hot air. This overdrive drains the battery.

Online I saw that many people have similar issues even on newer Tablet-laptop devices but seemingly no solutions.

I would appreciate any possible assistance with this issue. Bellow I will describe my system some.

X220t - i5 2520M
Windows 10 1809
4GB RAM

But, why would the battery cause the system to heat up only in tablet mode?
I will try no battery + AC

P.S. I downvoted by misstake, and can't change it now -.-

Unfortunately it is the same, I think it is windows 10 issue, I dual boot installed Manjaro Gnome and in it there is no heating issues and also the battery lasts up to 6 hours with screen on (I don't know what sort of magic this is), while on windows it struggles to get more than 2,5 hours
