Tascam da-p1 repair

Can anyone recommend how to rescue a TASCAM DA-P1 that has jammed with a tape inside? It makes a continuous whirring noise and none of the buttons work. In most cases it just displays 'tape' when they are pressed, but the eject button and the power off slider do nothing. Although it is quite old, it has had little use and is generally in good condition, and in my opinion is worthy of rescue.

The belt is slipping, if you replace the belt, it will eject or play again.
However, replacing the belt is a job for an experienced person.
If you open the unit and rotate the capstan flywheel by hand, it will probably
disengage the heads and allow the tape to eject...
