technics sa-200 problems

receiver plays cd's and phono fine on both channels but when i put it on fm it will lose one channel. it may fade back in but then goes back out. any idea what is causing this issue?

Well obviously it has something to do with the FM section, is not sending stereo signal to the amplifier section. If you are lucky all it needs is a good cleaning of the selector switch(es). Radio Shack used to sell a spray contact cleaner.

Thanks for the info. I may try to take it apart and clean those switches. I found a pictorial guide to tear it apart and how to clean them. This will be a new adventure for me. Hope I don't make it worse by messing with it. Thanks again!
